Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Jay Franlkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby TupperII!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from TupperII does no damage.
TupperII dives in for a single leg takedown but Franlkin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Franlkin appears to be looking for a big counter.
TupperII darts in trying to clinch
and Franlkin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Franlkin swats away the attempt to clinch by TupperII.
Franlkin pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Franlkin stuffs the takedown attempt from TupperII. TupperII gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from TupperII is defended easily by Franlkin.
Richard Jay Franlkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby TupperII.

Franlkin closes the distance and clinches.

TupperII breaks the clinch.

TupperII manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Franlkin on his heels. He'll look to pass Franlkin's guard now, I'm sure.
TupperII works a leg free and moves into half guard.

TupperII is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Franlkin makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Franlkin enables TupperII to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Franlkin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
TupperII working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

TupperII drops back, looking for a kneebar! Franlkin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Franlkin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Franlkin!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Franlkin decides to stand back up.
Franlkin clobbers TupperII with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Bobby TupperII has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Franlkin misses with a looping left.
TupperII shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Franlkin pinned against the cage. Franlkin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
TupperII tries for a takedown but Franlkin circles away easily
enabling Franlkin to counter with a crisp jab.
TupperII gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Franlkin.
No luck with that takedown attempt from TupperII.
Franlkin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
TupperII fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Franlkin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
TupperII shoots in looking for a takedown. Franlkin tries to sprawl out of it but TupperII keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Franlkin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Franlkin lands a jab to the nose.
TupperII shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Franlkin defends it nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Franlkin. No joy for TupperII on that attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Franlkin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Franlkin scores with a decent looking hook.
Franlkin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
TupperII misses with a takedown attempt - Franlkin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
It looked like Franlkin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
TupperII shoots in for a takedown but Franlkin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
TupperII shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Franlkin as he avoids it easily.
Franlkin is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Franlkin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
TupperII looks winded!
The fighters circle momentarily. Franlkin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

TupperII moves out of range of the strikes.
Franlkin slaps away a takedown attempt from TupperII, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Franlkin is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
TupperII looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Franlkin is fending him off so far but TupperII persists. Nope, Franlkin circles away and we're back to standing.
Franlkin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
TupperII fails with a takedown attempt.

and Franlkin counters with a left to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Franlkin misses with an uppercut. TupperII saw that one coming.
Richard Jay Franlkin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That has opened up Bobby TupperII's cut even more.
Franlkin lands an overhand right.

Franlkin cracks TupperII with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Franlkin has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning TupperII to stand back up!


TupperII is rocked!
TupperII gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Franlkin counters with a huge left! TupperII is in big trouble! He's backing up but Franlkin isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save TupperII from any more damage. A dominating finish by Franlkin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richard Jay Franlkin!
Richard Jay Franlkin bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
