Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Park Jae Sung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brenden Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jae Sung might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gangnam Style by PSY. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Park Jae Sung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brenden Abbott!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbott keeps the fight on the outside.
Abbott is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Abbott throws a jab but it's blocked by Jae Sung.
Abbott takes a swing at Jae Sung's ribcage but misses.
No joy there for Abbott, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Abbott lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Abbott chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jae Sung can pounce on him.
Abbott has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jae Sung.

Jae Sung gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Abbott to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Jae Sung is looking for a triangle but Abbott pushes his legs off easily.

Jae Sung is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Abbott is aware though and is defending well.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Abbott working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Abbott avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jae Sung has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Abbott.
Jae Sung is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Abbott.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jae Sung. Abbott does a little dance to reset his feet.
Abbott has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brenden Abbott seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Abbott tries to bum rush Jae Sung with a series of wild strikes but Jae Sung uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Abbott swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jae Sung.
Abbott throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Jae Sung swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Abbott lands with a hook. Jae Sung tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Jae Sung throws a leg kick which misses Abbott's front leg but catches the back leg as Abbott tries to avoid it.

Abbott throws a lazy right hand but Jae Sung sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Abbott counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jae Sung scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Jae Sung goes for a double leg but Abbott avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Abbott continues to drive forward.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jae Sung.

Jae Sung throws a lazy right hand but Abbott sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Abbott closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

A nice leg kick lands there from Abbott.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Park Jae Sung will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jae Sung is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Abbott has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jae Sung wants to pass the guard but Abbott is defending well.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Park Jae Sung.
I think Jae Sung has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
