The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chamba scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Chamba sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Irving is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
We've been hearing good reports from Chamba's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Irving really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chamba. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chamba misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Irving tries to bench press Chamba off him but Chamba keeps the position.
Irving parries the strikes from Chamba easily there. Chamba is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Irving to escape.

Chamba tries to counter with a takedown but Irving is quick to defend against it.

Irving lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chamba circles away quickly and effectively.

Jasper Irving is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Chamba pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chamba tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Irving defends well and Chamba ends up having to push Irving into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Irving has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Chamba shoots in looking for a takedown. Irving tries to sprawl out of it but Chamba keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Irving manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Irving fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Chamba looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Chamba shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Irving sprawls well. Irving wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chamba gets slowly back to his feet.

Irving gets caught napping as Chamba dives in and scores a takedown. Irving manages to retain guard.
Irving is looking to stand back up but Chamba counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Irving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chamba throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Chamba is trying to work for a kimura but Irving is defending well.
Irving is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Irving keeping hold of Chamba's head, controlling as best he can.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
