PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willy Wonka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter comes to the cage accompanied by I'm Shipping Up To Boston-Dropkick Murphys. Wonka has chosen Mr Rotten Treats - Insane Clown Posse as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justin Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Willy Wonka!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wonka.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wonka has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Wonka pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hunter back to the cage. Wonka follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Hunter keeps the fight on the outside.
It looked like Hunter wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Hunter throws a body punch but Wonka moves out of range.
Wonka takes a swing at Hunter's ribcage but misses.
Hunter half committed to a counter leg kick.
Wonka fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hunter has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Wonka has Hunter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hunter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Wonka lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hunter backwards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wonka shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hunter pinned against the cage. Hunter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Wonka is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hunter defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Hunter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wonka gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hunter has his foot on Wonka's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wonka works his way back into a safe position though.

Wonka sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hunter's guard.

Willy Wonka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wonka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
