Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lance Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zoey Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malone has chosen Boy Named Sue - Johnny Cash as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lance Bishop!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zoey Malone!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bishop.

Malone closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bishop did well to prevent Malone getting side control.
Bishop manages to get to full guard.
Malone throws a big right hand that misses.

Malone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Malone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Malone is pushing down on Bishop's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bishop is fighting to maintain full guard but Malone has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bishop tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Malone looking to finish Bishop with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bishop!
Bishop tries to reverse the position but Malone maintains control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bishop tries to hold on but Malone postures up.
Malone trying to control but Bishop is having none of it.
Malone prevents Bishop from getting the reversal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malone is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bishop can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Bishop is trying to escape the mount.
Malone lands a heavy elbow.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Malone cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Malone darts in looking for a takedown but Bishop gets double underhooks and turns Malone into the cage.
Malone cracks a nice hook into Bishop's ribs.
Bishop stuffs the takedown attempt from Malone. Malone gets slowly back to his feet.
Malone wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Malone moves into the clinch.
Malone is working Bishop over against the cage.
Bishop drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Malone gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Malone.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Malone works on Bishop's body with a couple of short punches.
Bishop scores with a nice hook to the head.
Bishop tries to land knees in the clinch but Malone avoids the damage to the body.
Bishop is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Malone gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Bishop jumps guard and drags Malone to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Bishop escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Malone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bishop controls Malone momentarily but Malone frees himself.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Malone thuds his shin into the meat of Bishop's side.
Malone throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bishop's head.

Malone shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Malone seems content to control.
Malone has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bishop is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Malone is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Malone lands with a punch from half guard.
Malone wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bishop keeps working.
Bishop has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Malone is trying to control. Bishop wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bishop jumps guard but Malone turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Malone goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Malone gets through Bishop's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Malone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bishop doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bishop manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Malone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Malone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bishop gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bishop seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Malone looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bishop is one step ahead there.
Malone is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Malone uses his free foot to push down on Bishop's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bishop.

Zoey Malone comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Malone has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
