Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ilari Hurma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phal Um (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hurma's entrance music is Yello - Oh Yeah. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ilari Hurma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phal Um!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurma avoids the body shot from Um.

Um closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Um in side control, throwing shots but Hurma defends.
Um misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Um trying to control the position but Hurma is working away.
Hurma avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Um.
Um wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hurma keeps working.
Hurma knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Um on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hurma is trying to get back to his feet.
Um misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Um in side control, throwing shots but Hurma defends.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hurma drops Um with a left and a right! Oh, Um is hurt - Hurma dives into side control looking to finish!

It looks like Phal Um has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ilari Hurma is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Um closes the distance and clinches.

Um works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Um trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Um stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hurma swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Um wants to control from the top but Hurma keeps moving.

Um with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hurma wants to sweep here but Um controlling him for the moment.
Um trying to control but Hurma is working from the bottom.
Um trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Um has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hurma takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Hurma throws a right and a left that Um avoids nicely.
Um scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Hurma throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Um keeps the fight on the outside.
Um blocks a jab.
Nice defenses there by Um.
Good standup being displayed there by Um as he connects with a hook.

Um has closed the distance and engaged Hurma in a clinch.
Um drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Um misses with some punches.
Um's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
A head punch blocked on the inside by Um.
Hurma gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Um.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hurma is pressed up against the cage. Um has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hurma down to the mat. Hurma avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ilari Hurma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phal Um.
Um moves out of range of the strikes.
Hurma throws a shot from downtown. Um moves away and avoids it.
Hurma avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Hurma takes a swing at Um's ribcage but misses.
Um steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hurma.
Hurma throws a right and a left that both miss.
Um misses with a looping right.
Hurma lands with a shot to the body.
Um avoids a punch combination nicely.
Um walks into a straight right hand from Hurma.
Um uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hurma.

Um darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hurma keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hurma tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Um paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hurma moves in looking to clinch but Um pushes him off.
Hurma looks to throw the jab but Um is out of range.
Um throws a body punch but Hurma moves out of range.
Hurma tries to close the distance and clinch but Um swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A left and a right from Um both land. Nice combination.
Hurma lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hurma darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hurma staying out of range there.
Um displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hurma throws out the jab.
Hurma ducks under a wild hook from Um.
Hurma misses with a looping left.
Um ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hurma moves away.
Um throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Um lands a right hook to the body.
Um thows a left - swing and a miss!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hurma, as that shot connected.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hurma slips a straight right by Um.
Um throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hurma counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Um lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Hurma digs a right hand into Um's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Um's gas tank.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hurma.
Um tries to score a body lock takedown but Hurma shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Um is breathing heavily.
Um is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hurma gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hurma lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Um.

Hurma breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Um moves out of range of the strikes.

Hurma misses with a hook. Um ducked under it nicely.

Hurma lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Um is looking to close the distance but Hurma sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Um crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Um is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
