PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Osborn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Strauss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strauss has chosen Real Quick (0-100) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gerard Osborn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Samuel Strauss!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Strauss clinches.

Osborn drags the fight down to the ground.
Strauss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Osborn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Strauss is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Strauss trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Strauss sitting in guard, not really doing much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Strauss decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Strauss goes for a double leg but Osborn avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Osborn continues to drive forward.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Strauss moves into range and clinches up with Osborn.

Osborn decides to pull guard.
Osborn is looking to stand up but Strauss isn't so interested in that idea.
Osborn will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Strauss decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Strauss shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Osborn as he avoids it easily.

Strauss instigates a clinch.

Osborn gets control of Strauss's arms and successfully pulls guard. Osborn will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Strauss is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Osborn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Strauss on the ground.
Strauss looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Strauss is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Strauss passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Strauss trying to control the action but Osborn is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Osborn defending against the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Strauss working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Strauss in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Osborn is not content to let Strauss control the position.
Osborn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Strauss has hold of Osborn's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Osborn seems comfortable defending it but Strauss has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Osborn is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Osborn is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Strauss couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Samuel Strauss!
An intense looking Samuel Strauss took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'First and foremost, I want to thank my Lord and Savior: Jesus Christ. Hats off to my opponent, he fought a great fight. I'm ready to get back in as soon as possible and work my way to the title! Also, thank you to the fans!'.
