Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erevis Cale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erevis Cale has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Erevis Cale!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander avoids the body shot from Cale.
Alexander misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alexander blocks a leg kick.
Alexander looks for the body kick but Cale saw that one coming.

Cale has managed to clinch.
Cale gets underhooks to prevent Alexander's takedown attempt.

Cale has Alexander pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cale pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Alexander tumbling to the mat - Cale dives into Alexander's guard.
Cale stays in close to Alexander's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cale throws a strike but Alexander rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Alexander wants to control from the top but Cale keeps moving.

Alexander stands up over Cale, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Alexander is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Cale feints and as Alexander raises his hands in defense, Cale changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cale controls from within his opponent's guard.

Alexander escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cale gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Alexander looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Cale stands and throws Alexander's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Alexander is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cale is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Cale lands a couple of good shots and Alexander has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Cale controlling the position well here. Alexander rolled but Cale kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Cale doesn't have the hooks in and Alexander manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cale throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Alexander tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cale is in Alexander's guard.

Alexander wants to sweep here but Cale controlling him for the moment.
Cale controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cale must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cale got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alexander has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cale has managed to get both his arms back between Alexander's legs - danger averted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cale has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alexander is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erevis Cale dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Cale is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Alexander's half guard.
Cale has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cale looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Cale is trying to control. Alexander wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Cale is stalling here. Alexander is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cale seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Alexander has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Cale closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alexander to the mat! Alexander manages to get full guard.
Cale would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Cale is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Alexander seems keen to control Cale's posture.
Cale looking to pass the guard.
Cale sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alexander's guard.
Cale thows a huge punch but Alexander dodges it nicely.

Cale is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Alexander still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Alexander has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Cale looks to move to half guard but instead Alexander has passed into mount! Damn!

Cale tries to reverse the position but Alexander maintains control.
Alexander tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Cale tries to hold on but Alexander postures up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cale can't escape the position.
Alexander thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Alexander can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cale is looking to escape.

Erevis Cale showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Cale shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cale was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Alexander went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Cale pushes Alexander up against the cage in a clinch.
Cale prevents Alexander from breaking the clinch.
Cale is pushing Alexander up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Cale has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Alexander clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Alexander wants to control his opponent's hands but Cale gets his hands free.
Alexander tries to break free.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Cale gets his hands free as Alexander looks to control.
Cale is trying to stick to Alexander's back but Alexander is turning into Cale. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Cale's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Alexander.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cale holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Cale throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cale wants to clinch.

Cale drives through with a takedown into Alexander's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Cale takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Erevis Cale comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Cale winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
