Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nishu Dere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Coleman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nishu Dere!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alex Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coleman moves into range and clinches up with Dere.
Coleman throws a punch but it's blocked by Dere.
Coleman scores a nice knee to the body.
Coleman looking to throw knees to the head but Dere is blocking nicely.
Coleman tries a knee to the head but Dere blocks it.
Coleman stops a takedown attempt from Dere.
Dere throws a punch but it's blocked by Coleman.
Coleman unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Coleman misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Dere.
Coleman stalling in the clinch but Dere improves position.
Dere takes a knee to the side of the body.
Coleman throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dere is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Coleman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dere throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Coleman.
Dere tries to bum rush Coleman with a series of wild strikes but Coleman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Coleman throws a series of punches but Dere moves out of range.
Coleman tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Dere is able to avoid easily.

Dere closes the distance and clinches.
Coleman misses with an elbow strike.

Dere's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Dere's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dere misses with the combination.
Dere sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Dere closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Coleman lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Coleman pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Coleman drags the fight down to the ground.

Dere stands up and waves to Coleman to follow him.
Coleman moves in looking to clinch but Dere pushes him off.
Coleman thuds his right hand into Dere's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Dere closes the distance and pushes Coleman back into the cage.
Coleman scores with a knee to the head.

Coleman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Dere clinches.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Coleman just misses with a elbow thrown towards Dere's brow.

Dere has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Coleman clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Dere is trying to stick to Coleman's back but Coleman is turning into Dere. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dere's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Coleman.
Coleman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
My spies in The Hut - $50 inform me that Coleman has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Coleman lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Coleman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dere ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Coleman moves away.
Coleman let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Coleman slaps away a takedown attempt from Dere, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dere shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Coleman but Coleman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A big right from Dere misses.
Coleman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dere manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Coleman thows a body kick. Dere tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Coleman fails with an attempt to clinch.

Coleman turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Coleman moves into range and clinches up with Dere.
Dere looking to throw knees to the head but Coleman is blocking nicely.
Dere is trying to stall.

Coleman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Coleman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Coleman darts in looking for a takedown but Dere gets double underhooks and turns Coleman into the cage.
Dere fails to land the takedown.
Coleman is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nishu Dere. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Coleman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Alex Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dere takes one to the side of the head.

Coleman leaves Dere with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Despite the aggression on Coleman's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Coleman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dere's sensitive parts.

Coleman manages to break the clinch.
Dere seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Coleman throws the kick towards the body but Dere avoids it.
Dere takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dere fails with the takedown.

Coleman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Dere has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Dere fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Coleman avoids it really well and circles away.

Coleman lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Coleman gets tackled into the cage by Dere. Dere maintains the clinch.

Coleman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Alex Coleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Dere closes the distance and clinches.
Coleman is trying to drag Dere to the mat but Dere just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dere goes for a takedown attempt but Coleman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Coleman stalks Dere and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dere's face. Dere staggers backwards, shaken.

Dere is looking to take this one to the mat.
Coleman using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Dere has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Coleman throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Dere blocks it with crossed arms.
Dere stalls.

Dere tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Coleman breaks from the clinch.
Coleman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Dere throws a body shot but no joy.
Coleman was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Coleman rushes Dere and presses him up against the cage.
Coleman lands a nice knee to the body.
Coleman is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dere is defending well for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dere is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Coleman to keep the fight standing.
Coleman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Coleman jumps guard but Dere stands there with Coleman around his waist. Coleman gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Dere has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Coleman uses from the top position.

I've got Coleman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
