The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilkins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wilkins showed some decent athleticism there.

English has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Wilkins is on him like a limpet, forcing English back against the cage.
English struggles to land a body shot inside as Wilkins controls his hands.
Wilkins blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
English tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wilkins's elbow.

Wilkins works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Wilkins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
English is trying to control the position but Wilkins postures up.
Wilkins wants to get up but he can't break English's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wilkins is pushing English up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
English is trying to pull guard but Wilkins has him pressed against the cage.
English could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Wilkins breaks from the clinch.
Wilkins misses with a head kick.
Wilkins misses with an uppercut. English saw that one coming.

Wilkins has hold of one of English's legs. English is fighting the takedown attempt but Wilkins gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

English pushes Wilkins off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Wilkins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wilkins wants it to stay on the feet.
Wilkins tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but English defends well and Wilkins ends up having to push English into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Wilkins has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed English clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wilkins is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but English has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
English rolls, trying to escape but Wilkins keeps control of the position.

Wilkins is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wilkins drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wilkins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Wilkins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as English works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
English not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well Wilkins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
