Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Pala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Kmiec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kmiec moves out of range of the body kick.

Kmiec has closed the distance and engaged Pala in a clinch.

Kmiec wants to get up but he can't break Pala's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Pala manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kmiec manages to get himself to full guard.

Pala wants to pass the guard but Kmiec is keeping the position.
Kmiec is looking to stand up but Pala isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kmiec looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pala with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kmiec wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pala keeps working.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Kmiec jumps guard but Pala stands there with Kmiec around his waist. Kmiec gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Pala manages to capitalize on a mistake by Kmiec to take his back!

Pala looking to break Kmiec's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kmiec remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pala will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Pala is trying to stick to Kmiec's back but Kmiec is turning into Pala. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pala's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kmiec.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kmiec stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kmiec wants it to stay on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pala working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kmiec doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kmiec manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
