PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexis Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sky Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker has chosen Bad Mofo - Jai One ft. Charlie Blaze as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Alexis Carpenter has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Alexis Carpenter seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexis Carpenter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sky Walker!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carpenter on his heels. He'll look to pass Carpenter's guard now, I'm sure.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carpenter connects with a nice short shot to Walker's temple.

Carpenter is working to avoid the ground and pound but Walker connects with a decent elbow.

Walker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carpenter's guard.
Walker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carpenter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Walker is looking to work some ground and pound but Carpenter has wrist control.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carpenter is on top in guard.

Walker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carpenter defends it easily.
Carpenter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sky Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Walker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carpenter to the mat! Carpenter manages to get full guard.

Carpenter has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Walker has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Carpenter is trying to pull guard but Walker turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alexis Carpenter.
I think Walker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
