The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wi swats away the attempt to clinch by Carroll.
Wi circles away from the clinch attempt.

Wi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Carroll tries to improve position but can't.
Wi moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Carroll prevents Wi from moving into mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wi tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

It looks like Wi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Wi scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Carroll to see if he's OK.

Carroll could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wi tries to stand but Carroll is controlling his head.

Wi tries to move into full mount but can't pass Carroll's legs.

Wi stands up and beckons Carroll to his feet.
Carroll wants to clinch.
Carroll sets himself, and Wi steps forward looking for the clinch! Carroll avoids it this time.
Carroll throws a head kick but Wi moves out of range.

Wi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Well, if Wi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Wi cracks Carroll with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
