Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Herb Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Volodymich Kovalev!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Herb Slater has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Slater looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kovalev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Slater pinned against the cage. Slater gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kovalev darts in and clinches Slater up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slater doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kovalev has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kovalev tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Slater smiles and moves away.

That was a close round but I would say that Herb Slater will probably get the nod.

Slater throws a strike but Kovalev rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kovalev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Slater has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kovalev has managed to get both his arms back between Slater's legs - danger averted.

Oh but Slater is tightening it up a little... Kovalev has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kovalev reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kovalev taps out! Nice BJJ there by Slater!
