Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Allison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Orlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexei Orlov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jim Allison's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexei Orlov!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Orlov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Allison controls Orlov momentarily but Orlov frees himself.

Allison is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Allison is working an open guard so Orlov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Orlov rushes Allison and presses him up against the cage.

Allison manages to break the clinch.
Orlov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Allison feinted with a counter takedown.

Allison forces Orlov back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allison is trying to force a seperation but Orlov has the dominant position.
Orlov throws a knee to the head but misses.

Allison throws a right hand that Orlov ducks under and follows up with a left that Orlov also avoids with ease.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Allison jumps guard and drags Orlov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Orlov is looking to work some ground and pound but Allison has wrist control.

Allison has his foot on Orlov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Orlov works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Allison is looking to break free of the clinch but Orlov has double underhooks.

Allison has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Orlov is trying to keep an underhook but Allison manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Orlov kicks off Allison and gets to his feet.

Orlov closes the distance and clinches.

Orlov moves into range and clinches up with Allison.
Orlov drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Allison gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Allison jumps into guard, dragging Orlov to the mat.

Jim Allison overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Orlov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Allison haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Allison is nestled in close to Orlov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
