The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vargas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bammer moves away.
Vargas loads up on a big right hand but Bammer slips the punch.

Bammer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vargas is trying to defend but Bammer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Bammer is thwarting Vargas's attempts to control the position.
Bammer prevents Vargas from improving his position.
Bammer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bammer trying to control the action but Vargas is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
