The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berns takes one to the side of the head.
Nice takedown defense from Fadzaev. No joy for Berns on that attempt.
Fadzaev slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Fadzaev lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fadzaev lunges at Berns with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Berns's hand.
Fadzaev bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Berns's head backwards.
Berns shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fadzaev as he jumps to the side.
A little jabbing left from Fadzaev on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Berns is rocked!
Fadzaev scores with a hook to the body. Berns takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Oh Berns is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Berns is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fadzaev.

The fighters circle momentarily. Fadzaev darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fadzaev lands a jab to the head.
Berns shoots in looking for a takedown. Fadzaev tries to sprawl out of it but Berns keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fadzaev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Berns. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Berns.
Berns moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Berns looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Berns takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fadzaev cracks Berns with a hook to the temple - Berns is on wobbly legs here! Fadzaev swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Berns falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Fadzaev wins by TKO!
