Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Beaver Hardwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Beaver Hardwood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Jin Kim!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardwood misses with a double jab.
Kim throws a jab when Hardwood was well out of range.
Hardwood throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kim on the side of the head.


It looks like Jin Kim has been cut.
Hardwood thuds his right hand into Kim's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kim thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hardwood definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hardwood dips to his left and cracks Kim with an uppercut!
Hardwood throws a body punch but Kim moves out of range.
Hardwood throws a half hearted mid kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hardwood throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

Hardwood scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kim doesn't seem bothered though.
Hardwood is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kim.

Kim takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Beaver Hardwood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Kim counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hardwood swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Kim displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hardwood throws out the jab.
Hardwood looks to land a body kick but Kim moved away.
It seemed like Kim was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hardwood takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Kim keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Kim avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
It seemed like Kim was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hardwood misses with an uppercut. Kim saw that one coming.
Kim swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hardwood lands a nice shot that snaps Kim's head back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kim stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hardwood.
Kim steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hardwood.

Hardwood connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Hardwood will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
It seemed like Kim was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hardwood slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hardwood will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hardwood lands with a nice combination. Kim backs away looking to recover.


Kim is rocked!
Hardwood scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Donk. Hardwood catches Kim right on the button with a cross.
Kim is still on wobbly legs! Can Hardwood finish him?
Hardwood tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kim was well out of range. Poor timing from Hardwood.
Hardwood cracks Kim with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Kim falls to his knees and Hardwood doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Beaver Hardwood!
