The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jorgensen moves out of range as Carwin throws a body kick.
Carwin throws a head kick that misses.
Carwin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jorgensen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Nelson Carwin has been cut.
Carwin misses with a double jab.
Jorgensen lands a big shot that drops Carwin! Can he finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jorgensen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Carwin keeping full guard, as Jorgensen tries to pass.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carwin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jorgensen circles away quickly and effectively.
Carwin is breathing heavily.
Carwin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jorgensen rattles Carwin with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Carwin tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Jorgensen dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Carwin stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nicklas Jorgensen!
