Flannigan comes to the cage accompanied by Spirit Of The West . Phillip Flannigan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Phillip Flannigan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gregory Mitchell!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flannigan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Mitchell kicks off Flannigan and gets to his feet.
Mitchell thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mitchell has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Mitchell looks to land a left hand but Flannigan moved out of range nicely.
Flannigan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Gregory Mitchell has been cut.

Flannigan closes the distance and clinches.
Flannigan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Flannigan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Flannigan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mitchell stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Flannigan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Flannigan displaying some good clinch control by pressing Mitchell up against the cage.
Mitchell tries to circle away but Flannigan has him pinned against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Flannigan creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Mitchell misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Mitchell misses with some punches.

Mitchell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd cheers as Flannigan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mitchell doesn't seem phased though.
Flannigan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Flannigan scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Mitchell connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mitchell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Good shot there by Flannigan.
Mitchell lands with a good body shot.
Mitchell lands with an overhand left.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Flannigan shoots in looking for a takedown but Mitchell manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Flannigan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Flannigan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mitchell looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Mitchell lands a head shot.
Flannigan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Flannigan shoots in for a takedown but Mitchell shows good takedown defense.
Mitchell misses with a body shot.
Flannigan looks to land a combination but Mitchell avoids it well.
Mitchell looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Mitchell dodges the punch combination from Flannigan.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mitchell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Flannigan.
Flannigan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mitchell makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Flannigan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mitchell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phillip Flannigan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mitchell lands with a right hand.
Mitchell punishes Flannigan's body with a nice straight punch.
Mitchell lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Mitchell fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Flannigan on the side of the head.
Mitchell looks to score with a jab to the body but Flannigan is just out of range.
Mitchell lands a jab to the nose.


Flannigan is rocked!


It looks like Phillip Flannigan has been cut.
Flannigan gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Mitchell gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Flannigan is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gregory Mitchell!
After the fight, Gregory Mitchell was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Phillip Flannigan spoke after the fight, saying 'For my fans. I thank you for your continued support. Also a shout out to the boys at the pub in Dublin.'.
