The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mahones. King does a little dance to reset his feet.
An inside leg kick from King misses.
King throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mahones takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mahones catches King with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

King throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

King jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mahones walks away with a smile on his face. King gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kicking King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King tries to land a front kick but Mahones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Mahones throws the left hand but King avoids the punch easily.
The fighters circling - Mahones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

King has a couple of punches blocked by Mahones.
Mahones blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

That has opened up Kicking King's cut even more.

King wants to get back to striking at distance but Mahones won't allow it.
Mahones lands a left hand that snaps the head of King backwards.
King misses with a body punch.

Mahones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mahones lands a lovely overhand right.
Mahones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. King looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
King walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mahones checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Good work by Mahones as he checks the leg kick.

Mahones lands a left and a right that send King crashing to the mat, dazed. Mahones thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mahones clobbers King with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Kicking King's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Mahones connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kicking King's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Stones Mahones!
Stones Mahones opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
