Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johan August Sandels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pikku Kakkipylly!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kakkipylly with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kakkipylly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sandels throwing a counter right hand but Kakkipylly manages to avoid it.
Sandels has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Team Tukkapölly in the buildup to the fight.
Kakkipylly feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sandels's calf.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sandels crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kakkipylly - the referee stops the clock and Sandels gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kakkipylly. Sandels manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Sandels ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kakkipylly moves away.
Kakkipylly throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Kakkipylly gets a clinch.
Kakkipylly creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Sandels working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Sandels tries to throw a body punch but Kakkipylly avoids it by throwing Sandels back against the cage.
Kakkipylly missing with knees to the body.
Kakkipylly lands an elbow inside.
Kakkipylly missing with knees to the body.
Sandels missing with knees to the body.
Kakkipylly breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kakkipylly uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sandels.
A telegraphed right hand from Sandels misses the target.
Kakkipylly scores with a spinning back kick!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kakkipylly throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Sandels misses with an uppercut.
Kakkipylly misses with a body kick.
Kakkipylly throws a lazy body kick
and Sandels counters with a stiff right hand.
Kakkipylly instigates a clinch.
Kakkipylly gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Kakkipylly lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Johan August Sandels has been cut.
Kakkipylly's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kakkipylly looks for the body kick but Sandels saw that one coming.
Sandels throws a body shot but no joy.
Sandels misses with a left hand
and Kakkipylly counters with a big head kick but Sandels shrugs it off.
Sandels is rocked!
Sandels throws a poor cross that misses
and Kakkipylly counters with a solid body kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sandels throws a hook but Kakkipylly blocks it.
The fighters circle, before Kakkipylly throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Sandels's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Kakkipylly lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Pikku Kakkipylly!
