Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Everaldo Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William McDougal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Everaldo Junior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William McDougal!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDougal scores with a shot to the body.
McDougal looks for a takedown but Junior sprawls well.
Junior misses with a head kick.
We've been told by Junior's head coaches at Gracie Barra Hilo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A head kick misses from Junior.
McDougal takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Junior throws a head kick that misses.
McDougal moves in looking to clinch but Junior pushes him off.

Junior closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McDougal wants to take the fight to the mat but Junior manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Junior comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Junior escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Junior throws a head kick that misses.
McDougal scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McDougal tries to clinch there but Junior circles away.

McDougal feints and as Junior raises his hands in defense, McDougal changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Junior is looking to stand back up but McDougal counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Junior.
McDougal wants to stand but Junior has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Junior has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McDougal is working away from the top position though.

McDougal seems to be looking for submissions.
Junior tries to kick McDougal off but McDougal keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
McDougal wants to control but Junior is keeping him busy.
Junior is looking to improve his position.

McDougal is looking for a kimura but Junior is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McDougal to get the leverage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McDougal lands with a punch from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Junior wants to control but McDougal is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Junior blocking the ground and pound attempt from McDougal.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McDougal in particular looking to stall.
McDougal is nestled in close to Junior, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
McDougal prevents Junior from standing back up.

McDougal escapes and gets back to his feet.
McDougal throws a head kick but Junior moves out of range.
McDougal fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Everaldo Junior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William McDougal.
Junior swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McDougal throws a counter combo.
McDougal moves out of range of the body kick from Junior.
McDougal blocks a head kick by Junior.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

McDougal gets the takedown into side control.
McDougal tries to score with some ground and pound. Junior controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
An elbow from McDougal crashes against the mat.
McDougal trying to control the action but Junior is working from the bottom.
A lull in the action here as McDougal stalls from top position.

McDougal tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Junior being controlled for a moment.

My spies in Hilo Fight lab inform me that McDougal has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Junior is trying to control McDougal's posture but McDougal avoids it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Junior tries to buck McDougal off but McDougal is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but William McDougal will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



McDougal looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Junior manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. McDougal keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Junior breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McDougal dives in for a single leg takedown but Junior sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Junior buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
McDougal fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Junior avoids it really well and circles away.
Junior misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Junior pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Junior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Junior slaps away a takedown attempt from McDougal, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Everaldo Junior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William McDougal.
McDougal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Junior paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Junior moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McDougal blocks a head kick by Junior.
McDougal will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Junior is looking to clinch.
McDougal shapes to counter with a head kick.
McDougal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Junior as he jumps to the side.

McDougal gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Junior blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Junior breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Junior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McDougal shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Junior counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McDougal.

Junior throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Junior keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McDougal shoots for a takedown but Junior saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McDougal is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A head kick from Junior lands but McDougal takes it in his stride.
Junior lands a head kick. McDougal smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McDougal is defended easily by Junior.
Junior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Junior throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Junior looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
McDougal is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Junior.
McDougal takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Junior takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
McDougal moves in looking to clinch but Junior pushes him off.
Everaldo Junior is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A head kick misses from Junior.
Nice sprawl there from Junior as McDougal shoots in.
McDougal blocks a low kick nicely.

McDougal closes the distance and pushes Junior back into the cage.

Junior breaks from the clinch.
McDougal closes this distance looking for a takedown but Junior circles away.
Junior throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by McDougal.
Junior misses with a few strikes there.
Horrible takedown attempt by McDougal or perhaps it was just good defense by Junior, which made it look bad.
McDougal shoots in looking for a takedown. Junior tries to sprawl out of it but McDougal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Junior manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McDougal tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Junior defends well and McDougal ends up having to push Junior into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
McDougal darts in looking for a takedown but Junior gets double underhooks and turns McDougal into the cage.
Junior throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Junior lands a high kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Junior throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McDougal.
McDougal avoids the head kick by Junior.

McDougal throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Junior tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McDougal is in Junior's guard.
Junior is wriggling around but McDougal manages to pass to half guard.
McDougal is controlling the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Everaldo Junior dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Junior pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Everaldo Junior is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McDougal crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Junior - the referee stops the clock and McDougal gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Junior. McDougal manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Junior stuffs the takedown attempt from McDougal. McDougal gets slowly back to his feet.
Junior seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Junior gets a clinch.
McDougal tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Junior smiles and moves away.
Junior will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McDougal darts in looking for a takedown but Junior gets double underhooks and turns McDougal into the cage.
Everaldo Junior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William McDougal.

Junior throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

McDougal looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Junior misses with a jab, cross combination.
McDougal shoots in and drives through. Junior sprawls well.
Junior fails with an attempt to clinch.
McDougal looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Junior is fending him off so far but McDougal persists. Nope, Junior circles away and we're back to standing.
As McDougal looks to move away, Junior throws a big counter combo bu McDougal just gets out of the way.
Junior throws a sloppy head kick and McDougal moves out of range easily.
McDougal fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Junior feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits McDougals jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

McDougal is trying hard to land a takedown here. Junior sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McDougal has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Junior.
Junior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

McDougal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Junior to the mat! Junior manages to get full guard.

Junior pushes McDougal off and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Junior lands with a slapping head kick.

McDougal closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Junior quickly recovers to half guard.

McDougal wants to work for an arm triangle but Junior is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Junior is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McDougal throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

McDougal is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Junior has managed to free his arm - good work.
McDougal controlling the action here.

McDougal is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McDougal takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Junior on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Junior regains full guard. Nicely done.
McDougal stopping the sweep attempt from Junior.
William McDougal has got the better of the ground game so far.
Junior keeping moving, preventing McDougal from controlling successfully.
McDougal is stalling in the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Everaldo Junior showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Junior has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
