The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LeSac fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kharitonov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kharitonov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kharitonov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but LeSac manages to avoid it.
LeSac moves out of range of the strikes.
LeSac takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

It looks like Jean LeSac has been cut.
Kharitonov tries to clinch but LeSac is having none of it.
Kharitonov missing with a left hand there. LeSac was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bolodenka Kharitonov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kharitonov throws a lazy right hand but LeSac sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Horrible takedown by LeSac or perhaps it was just good defense by Kharitonov which made him look bad.

LeSac drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kharitonov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now LeSac has Kharitonov in his guard.
LeSac looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kharitonov is one step ahead there.

LeSac looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kharitonov passes into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

LeSac tries to buck Kharitonov off but Kharitonov is having none of it.
LeSac sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Kharitonov stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kharitonov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kharitonov throws a series of punches but LeSac avoids them all with ease.

Kharitonov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
LeSac takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kharitonov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
LeSac uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kharitonov.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kharitonov scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Kharitonov ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

That has opened up Jean LeSac's cut even more.
LeSac keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kharitonov.
LeSac shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kharitonov as he avoids it easily.

LeSac closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - LeSac lands in his opponent's guard.

LeSac stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kharitonov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kharitonov wants to break free but LeSac has control.
Kharitonov is looking to break free of the clinch but LeSac has double underhooks.
