Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juan Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laam OvGod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Laam OvGod!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres throws a hook but OvGod blocks it.
OvGod has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
OvGod throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Juan Torres has been cut.
Torres throws a right hand that OvGod ducks under and follows up with a left that OvGod also avoids with ease.
OvGod tries to counter by closing the distance.
OvGod on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Torres misses the target.
Torres defending well as OvGod loads up on a big left hand.
Torres looks to score with a jab to the body but OvGod is just out of range.
OvGod is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Torres falls off balance throwing a combination
and OvGod counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by OvGod.
OvGod is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Torres is defending well for now.

OvGod misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Torres.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

OvGod breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
OvGod uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Torres.
OvGod gets in close and instigates a clinch.
OvGod lands a right hand.
Torres is breathing heavily.
Torres has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
OvGod pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Torres swings widly with a right hand
and OvGod counters with a left and a right... And another left! Torres is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Laam OvGod!
