The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mushu goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

and Jace counters with a single leg into guard. Mushu didn't expect that.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mushu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mushu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jace drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mushu sprawls and moves away.

and Jace counters with a shoot takedown. Mushu fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Mushu manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Mushu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jace avoids the head kick by Mushu.
Mushu throws a sloppy head kick
and Jace counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Mushu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jace. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jace is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mushu is in trouble now - Jace has advanced to mount!

Jace takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Mushu looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Jace! Submission of the night perhaps?
