PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frederik Muller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lang kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cemetary Gates. Muller has chosen Johnny Cash - Hurt as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muller fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Muller.
Lang is looking to reverse the position.

Muller wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lang, who protects the arm well.

Muller is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lang has escaped the position, nice work there.

Muller is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lang knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Lang fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Muller checks it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Muller holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Muller ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Muller no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dave Lang will probably get the nod.

Lang isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Muller stacks Lang on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Muller!

Lang had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Muller is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lang Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Muller's back instead.
