Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dale English (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryoto Sagat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dale English!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryoto Sagat!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagat tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
English fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sagat shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has English pinned against the cage. English gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

English has taken the fight to the clinch.
English tries to pull guard but Sagat won't allow it.

English breaks the clinch.
Sagat clinches but English breaks the clinch

and English counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by English.
Sagat is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst English is controlling him.
English wants to pass the guard but Sagat is keeping the position.
English controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sagat throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Sagat is trying to keep English in close.
English stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sagat swivels though and keeps the full guard.
English is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
English trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
English fails with the takedown
and Sagat counters with a head kick. That will keep English thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dale English. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sagat shoots in for a double leg but English sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
English tries to close the distance and clinch but Sagat swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

English drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Sagat is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

English gets to his feet - Sagat follows without any prompting.
Sagat lands a high kick!
Sagat misses with a double jab.
English changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sagat tries to avoid it but English manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sagat to the ground. Sagat escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Sagat counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
English is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

English had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sagat is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. English Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sagat's back instead.

Sagat just trying to survive but English is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Sagat tries to break free.

Sagat is having to fend off submission attempts from English, who is looking to sink in the choke. English doesn't have the hooks in though and Sagat manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
English has control of Sagat's left arm, preventing Sagat from doing any damage.
Sagat stopping the sweep attempt from English.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sagat chips away with some ground and pound.
Sagat wants to control from the top but English keeps moving.

English looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sagat passes into half guard.
Sagat sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. English defending well though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dale English will probably get the nod.

Sagat gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and English counters with a takedown into side control.
English trying to control the action but Sagat is working from the bottom.
Sagat gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Sagat tries to control English's body but English pushes him off. Sagat squirms to his side and now English has his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sagat wants to get back to his feet.

English looking for the RNC.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

English not allowing Sagat to control his hands.
Sagat finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.
English trying to control but Sagat is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sagat is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
English punishing his opponent with strikes.
Poor strikes thrown by English there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Dale English overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sagat is wriggling around trying to escape.

English goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sagat is on top in guard.
English is trying to control the position from the bottom.
English is pulling down on Sagat's head to control his posture.
Sagat trying to control but English is working from the bottom.
Sagat prevents English from getting back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sagat stands up from English's guard - Sagat perhaps looking for a knockout.
English throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
English gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sagat counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in English's guard now.
English is trying to control the position but Sagat postures up.
Sagat trying to control the position from guard on top but English is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
English looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
English trying to keep a closed guard but Sagat is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dale English will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Sagat scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

and English counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
English is pressing down on Sagat's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sagat is holding on for now.
English slows the pace down in half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
English throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Sagat tries to roll over but English keeps him under control.

English wants to pass the guard but Sagat is defending well.

English decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sagat lands a head kick!

and English counters with a good low kick that Sagat was not able to check.
Sagat scores with a kick to the body.

English has managed to clinch.
Sagat tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. English smiles and moves away.
Dale English has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryoto Sagat.
English looks for a takedown but Sagat sprawls well.
Dale English is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sagat tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sagat pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sagat misses with a takedown attempt - English sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
English tries for a takedown but Sagat circles away easily

and Sagat decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in English's guard.
English is trying to control the position but Sagat postures up.
Sagat forces his way into half guard.
Sagat not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Sagat wants to control but English is keeping him busy.
English wants to get back to his feet.
English on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if English tries to get out of the position.

English is trying to control but Sagat manages to pass to mount!
Sagat manages to capitalize on a mistake by English to take his back!
English trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Sagat is looking to control English but English is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Sagat is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. English defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sagat not allowing English to control his hands.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ryoto Sagat.
I think English has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
