Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pabst Ribbon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juan Carro!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribbon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carro.
Carro throws a hook but Ribbon avoids it easily.
Ribbon throws a lazy right hand but Carro sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ribbon scores with a body shot.
Ribbon misses with a few strikes there.
Pabst Ribbon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ribbon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Carro shoots in for a double leg but Ribbon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ribbon throws a looping overhand right but Carro ducks down to avoid it.
Carro shoots in looking for a takedown. Ribbon tries to sprawl out of it but Carro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ribbon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ribbon misses with a double jab.
Ribbon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ribbon throws a right and a left that both miss.

A punch combination from Ribbon misses.
Carro avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ribbon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carro.
Ribbon throws a looping overhand right but Carro ducks down to avoid it.
Ribbon throws a right hand that Carro ducks under and follows up with a left that Carro also avoids with ease.
Ribbon takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A telegraphed right hand from Ribbon misses the target.
Carro goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Carro counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Ribbon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carro is working away from the top position though.
Carro throwing shots but Ribbon is blocking nicely.
Carro thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Carro with the ground and pound but Ribbon uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Ribbon trying to keep a closed guard but Carro is proving a slippery customer.

Carro has gone for a leg lock! Ribbon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carro's guard.
Ribbon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carro is keeping the position for now.
Carro wants to sweep but no luck.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ribbon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Ribbon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ribbon tries to free his leg and advance position but Carro is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pabst Ribbon will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ribbon falls off balance throwing a combination

and Carro moves into the clinch.
Carro tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ribbon just stands there and leans against the cage.
Carro has Ribbon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ribbon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ribbon on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Ribbon has had enough of the clinch but Carro keeps him there for the moment.

Carro manages to break the clinch.
Ribbon digs a good body shot into Carro's ribs.
Ribbon misses with a double jab
and Ribbon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ribbon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Carro counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ribbon's knee momentarily.
Ribbon throws a series of punches but Carro avoids them all with ease.
Ribbon throws a left and a right that both miss
and Carro counters with a low kick, right behind Ribbon 's knee.
Ribbon misses with a combination
and Carro counters with a leg kick.

Ribbon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Carro has Ribbon up against the cage in a clinch.
Carro drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pabst Ribbon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Carro.
Carro struggles to land a body shot inside as Ribbon controls his hands.

Carro manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Ribbon misses the target.

Carro moves into the clinch.
Ribbon tries to break the clinch but Carro is controlling the position.
Carro wants a takedown but no success here.

Carro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ribbon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carro throws a lazy right hand but Ribbon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Carro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Carro throws a series of punches but Ribbon moves out of range.
Ribbon waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Carro.
Ribbon throws a left and a right that both miss
and Carro counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ribbon's knee momentarily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ribbon throws a left that rocks Carro and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Ribbon dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Carro regain composure!


Carro is rocked!


It looks like Juan Carro has been cut.
Carro is breathing heavily.
Carro is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Ribbon is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Carro is still in real trouble! Can Ribbon finish him?
Ribbon thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Ribbon sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Carro seems to have recovered his senses.
Ribbon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carro is desperately trying to improve his position but Ribbon has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pabst Ribbon dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Juan Carro's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Carro is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ribbon.

and Carro makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Carro changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ribbon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ribbon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ribbon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Carro keeps control of Ribbon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

and Carro holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Carro prevents Ribbon from breaking the clinch.
Carro drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ribbon pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pabst Ribbon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Carro.

and Carro counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Juan Carro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ribbon works his way to full guard. Good work.
Ribbon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Ribbon tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Carro throws and elbow that misses. Ribbon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carro's guard. Nice move by Ribbon!
Carro trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Carro wants to sweep but no luck.
Carro lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ribbon!
Ribbon is wriggling around trying to escape.
Pabst Ribbon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ribbon wants to hold on but Carro pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ribbon is in all sorts of trouble here.
Carro misses with a head shot.

Juan Carro comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ribbon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
