Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daryl Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos has chosen Mexican rap as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Daryl Baird has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Carlos.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Baird looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Carlos tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Carlos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carlos goes for a double leg but Baird avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Baird continues to drive forward.
Baird is looking to counter the offense by Carlos and move into the clinch.
Carlos defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Baird.
Carlos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Baird tries to avoid it but Carlos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Baird to the ground. Baird escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Daryl Baird has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Carlos.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carlos has hold of Baird's hands but Baird slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Baird has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Baird seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Carlos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baird. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Baird is nestled in close to Carlos, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Baird looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carlos with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
