The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valderena throws a quick inside leg kick.
Valderena digs a good hook to McCormick's body.
Valderena throws out a loose jab but McCormick uses good head movement to avoid it.
A head kick lands from Valderena that sends McCormick to the canvas. McCormick tries to scramble back to his feet but Valderena brings him back down into side control.
McCormick is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Valderena swings around for an armbar but McCormick sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Valderena's guard.
Oh McCormick is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
McCormick gets to his feet - Valderena follows without any prompting.
Valderena feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! McCormick collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!
