Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Sturmberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Blow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Sturmberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Blow!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sturmberg throws a head kick but Blow moves out of range.

Sturmberg clinches up against the cage.

Blow pulls guard successfully.
Sturmberg sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blow looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sturmberg is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blow is working an open guard so Sturmberg takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Blow tried to score with a low kick but Sturmberg checks it.
Blow looks to land a body kick but Sturmberg moved away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Blow lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sturmberg has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sturmberg and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Sturmberg appears to be looking for a big counter.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sturmberg looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sturmberg tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Blow defends well and Sturmberg ends up having to push Blow into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The referee is keeping an eye on Sturmberg - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Blow tries for a takedown but Sturmberg manages to get underhooks.
Blow tries to pull guard but Sturmberg holds him up against the cage and eventually Blow drops back down to his feet.
Sturmberg will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Blow up against the cage.
Sturmberg drops down looking for an ankle pick but Blow pulls his leg out and moves away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Horrible takedown attempt by Sturmberg or perhaps it was just good defense by Blow, which made it look bad.
Blow tries to score with a low kick but Sturmberg moves his leg out of the way.
Sturmberg tries to counter with a takedown but Blow is quick to defend against it.
Blow wants to slow Sturmberg down by chopping away at his legs.

Sturmberg clinches up with Blow and pushes him back against the cage.

A battle for position here, against the cage.
Blow is looking to control Sturmberg's arms but Sturmberg gets an underhook and turns him. Now Blow has his back to the cage.
Blow keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sturmberg's efforts to push away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joe Blow will probably get the nod.
That's time! Sturmberg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The fight stays on the outside here - Blow looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Blow walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sturmberg checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Sturmberg went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Sturmberg blocks a low kick nicely.
A lazy body kick from Sturmberg
and Blow counters with a head kick. That will keep Sturmberg thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Blow tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sturmberg swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Blow has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The referee is keeping an eye on Blow - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Sturmberg has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Blow after a bit of a struggle.

Blow on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Sturmberg tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blow smiles and moves away.

Blow gets tackled into the cage by Sturmberg. Sturmberg maintains the clinch.
Blow has Sturmberg pressed against the cage, preventing Sturmberg from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Sturmberg is trying to pull guard but Blow has him pressed against the cage.

Sturmberg jumps guard and drags Blow to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Blow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sturmberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sturmberg rushes Blow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sturmberg drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Blow gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Blow is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Sturmberg has denied him.

Sturmberg has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Blow avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Blow has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sturmberg uses from the top position.

Sturmberg remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sturmberg decides to stand back up. Sturmberg steps back and let's Blow get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Blow is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sturmberg sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sturmberg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blow paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Blow displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sturmberg.

Sturmberg dives in for a single leg takedown but Blow sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Joe Blow seems to be getting the better of the standup.

David Sturmberg has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joe Blow is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Blow misses with a hook to the ribs.

Joe Blow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Blow winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
