Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juhani Virtalaakso!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Virtalaakso throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Virtalaakso fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reed, pushing him back against the cage.

Reed wants to improve his position but Virtalaakso is controlling well.

Virtalaakso looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Reed tries to roll over but Virtalaakso keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

As Virtalaakso looks to move away, Reed throws a big counter combo bu Virtalaakso just gets out of the way.

Reed tries to pull guard but Virtalaakso forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Virtalaakso wants to get back to striking at distance but Reed won't allow it.
Reed keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Virtalaakso's efforts to push away.

Virtalaakso successfully pulls guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reed accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Reed is looking to work some ground and pound but Virtalaakso has wrist control.

Virtalaakso is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Reed gets control of Virtalaakso's arms and successfully pulls guard. Reed will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Virtalaakso drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Virtalaakso must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Reed bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Virtalaakso's guard.

Virtalaakso has his feet on Reed's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Virtalaakso throws a sloppy head kick and Reed moves out of range easily.
Reed changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Virtalaakso tries to avoid it but Reed manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Virtalaakso to the ground. Virtalaakso escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Reed manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Virtalaakso manages to get himself to full guard.

Virtalaakso pushes Reed off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Virtalaakso feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Virtalaakso has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
