The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett throws a shot to the body.
Stevens has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Barnett fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stevens feinted with a counter takedown.
Barnett lands a nice shot to the body.
Barnett lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like Frank Stevens has been cut.

Stevens had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barnett defends it easily.

Barnett is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stevens defends it well.

Stevens is trying to maintain the position but Barnett is very close to passing his half guard.

Barnett looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stevens with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stevens works his way to full guard. Good work.

Barnett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Barnett is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Stevens is hurt! He's hurt bad - Barnett fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Stevens from any more punishment! Congratulations to Barnett! Great finish!
