Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Al Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frankie Reid will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Al Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frankie Reid!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Reid both land. Nice combination.
Davis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Reid lands with a nice combination. Davis backs away looking to recover.
Reid lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


Davis is rocked!
Davis shoots for a takedown but Reid saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Oh Davis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Reid.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reid has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Davis seems to have got his legs back now.
Reid throws a series of punches but Davis avoids them all with ease.
Davis attempts a counter takedown but Reid avoids it well and moves away.

Reid drives through with a takedown into Davis's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Reid looking to sit in guard and control but Davis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Reid is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Reid wants to improve his position but instead Davis has moved into half guard.

Davis is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis thows a huge punch but Reid dodges it nicely.
Davis trying to mount his opponent but Reid defends it.
Reid is refusing to be controlled, as Davis sits in half guard.

Davis is looking for a kimura but Reid is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Davis to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Reid has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Reid wants to get back to full guard.
Reid is trying to stand.
Davis works his way into full mount!
Reid blocking the ground and pound.
Reid is desperately trying to improve his position but Davis has a good base and remains in mount.
Reid really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reid tries to buck Davis off so he can stand up but Davis has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Reid falls backwards, slamming Davis to the mat but Davis holds on tight! Reid is forced to tap and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Al Davis!
