Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Capanga Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Kojima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Capanga Junior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Kojima!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior shoots and misses
and Kojima counters with a nice body shot.
Junior misses with a takedown
and Kojima counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Junior definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kojima shoots in but Junior avoids the takedown attempt easily.
No luck for Junior with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Capanga Junior. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Junior tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kojima sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Junior somewhat.
Kojima is looking for the big counter here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kojima shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Junior sprawls well. Junior wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kojima gets slowly back to his feet.

Kojima thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Junior striking off his back but it's not causing Kojima any problems.
Junior utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Junior trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Junior tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Junior is trying to keep Kojima in close.

Kojima slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Junior trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Junior lands a decent punch to the body there.
Junior will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Kojima would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Kojima counters with a series of strikes. Junior will be more careful next time no doubt.

Kojima looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Junior is fending him off so far but Kojima persists. Nope, Junior circles away and we're back to standing.

Kojima shoots for a double leg takedown but Junior sprawls well. He's pushed Kojima's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Junior drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kojima sprawls and moves away.
Kojima shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Junior but Junior pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Kojima counters with a left and a right that stings Junior.
Kojima is working the combinations to good effect here.

Kojima feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Junior is refusing to be controlled, as Kojima sits in half guard.

Junior flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Junior is staying active underneath Kojima, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Kojima is looking for a kimura but Junior is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kojima to get the leverage.
Junior wants to improve his position but Kojima is controlling well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kojima moves into full mount! Junior won't be happy about that!
Kojima can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Junior is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akira Kojima dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kojima shoots in for a takedown but Junior shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Junior throws a strike but Kojima rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Kojima in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kojima connects with a couple of short punches.
Kojima is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.

Junior is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kojima passes Junior's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Junior manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Junior wants to sweep but no luck.
Junior wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kojima is now in half guard.

Kojima is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Junior is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Akira Kojima!
Akira Kojima gave a mention to Sun-Tzu in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
