Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carl Park!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Silva!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Park as Silva shoots in.
Silva throws a head kick that misses.
Park throwing a counter right hand but Silva manages to avoid it.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Park lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Park manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carl Park has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Silva.
Park stuffs the takedown.
Silva throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Silva lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Silva.


It looks like Carl Park has been cut.

Park drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Silva pushes Park off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Park changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Silva fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Park slaps away a takedown attempt from Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Park tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Park manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.

Park fails to pull guard.
Park has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Park tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Silva just stands there and leans against the cage.
Park is breathing heavily.
Silva is trying to pull guard but Park has him pressed against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Park's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Park shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Park.

Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silva avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Park takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Park as he jumps to the side.
A quick step to the side and Park tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Park, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Park against the cage but Park circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Park shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Silva is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Silva tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Park defends well and Silva ends up having to push Park into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Park moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Park or not.
Silva can't break the clinch.
Silva tries to break the clinch but Park is controlling the position.

Silva manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Silva throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Park won't allow Silva to sweep him here.
Park stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva moves into the clinch.
Park tries to break free but Silva pushes him back against the cage.
Park keeps control of Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Silva is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Park is defending well for now.
Park blocks an elbow strike from Silva.
I was talking to Park's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Park tries to work over Silva's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Silva goes for a takedown attempt but Park pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Park shows good takedown defense.
Park is looking to counter with head kicks.
Jay Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Park is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Park circles away and we're back to standing.

Carl Park is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silva leaves Park with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Park shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.
Park sets himself, and Silva steps forward looking for the clinch! Park avoids it this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Park darts in looking for a takedown but Silva gets double underhooks and turns Park into the cage.

Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Park sprawls well. Park wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Park seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.

Park has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Silva regains guard immediately.

Silva has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Park is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silva tries for a takedown but Park manages to get underhooks.
Silva tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Silva has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Park after a bit of a struggle.

Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Park avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Park manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Park tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Park to the ground. Park escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.
Park misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Silva.

Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Park avoids it really well and circles away.

Park clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.

Silva gets control of Park's arms and successfully pulls guard. Silva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Park trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Park is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Carl Park will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Silva tries to clinch there but Park circles away.
It looked like Park was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Silva.
Park keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Park is looking to counter punch.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Park sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
Park is looking to clinch.

Silva throws a right hand that Park ducks under and follows up with a left that Park also avoids with ease.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Park as he jumps to the side.

Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Silva looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Park swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Park looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silva dives in for a single leg takedown but Park sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Silva avoids the body shot from Park.
Silva wants to counter the offense by Park and move into the clinch position.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Park sprawls well. Park wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Park tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Park to the ground. Park escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
It looked like Park wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jay Silva.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
