The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McDonald lands in his opponent's guard.
Davis throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Davis controls McDonald momentarily but McDonald frees himself.
Davis looking for a guillotine here but McDonald defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDonald trying to control the position from guard on top but Davis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Davis trying to keep a closed guard but McDonald is proving a slippery customer.
Davis has his foot on McDonald's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McDonald works his way back into a safe position though.
McDonald avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
McDonald is posturing up here but Davis has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! McDonald tries to roll out but it's too tight and McDonald has to tap! Slick submission there by Davis!
