Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Hale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zico Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaun Hale has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zico Ali!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali throws a one two combo.

Hale closes the distance and pushes Ali back into the cage.

Hale breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hale misses with a takedown attempt
and Ali counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hale closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ali is trying to control Hale's posture but Hale avoids it.
Ali is looking for a sweep.
Hale in side control, just content to control the action for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hale is putting a hurting on Ali here, landing some big shots from side control.

Hale decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Ali looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ali enables Hale to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ali manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hale stands up and waves to Ali to follow him.
Shaun Hale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ali has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hale.

Hale pushes Ali up against the cage in a clinch.

Hale jumps into guard, dragging Ali to the mat.
Ali looking to sit in guard and control but Hale gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hale slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We've been hearing that Hale has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Hale content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Hale has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hale decides to take the fight back to the feet.

and Ali counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hale swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Hale looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ali doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Hale shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ali pinned against the cage. Ali gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ali throws a counter combo.
Hale tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ali sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hale somewhat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ali throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Zico Ali will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hale goes for a double leg but Ali avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ali continues to drive forward.

Ali lands a left and a right that send Hale crashing to the mat, dazed. Ali thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Shaun Hale has been cut.

and Ali makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ali lands with a big right hook that stumbles Hale - he's out on his feet here! Ali follows up with another monster hook that separates Hale from consciousness! Hale falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Ali stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Zico Ali!
