Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Aurelius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cliff Carriggian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cliff Carriggian!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aurelius on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Carriggian. Carriggian obviously looking to wear him down.

Carriggian closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Aurelius to the mat! Aurelius manages to get full guard.
Aurelius definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Carriggian trying to control but Aurelius is working from the bottom.
Carriggian controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Aurelius keeping moving, preventing Carriggian from controlling successfully.
Carriggian passes Aurelius's left leg - he's now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carriggian trying to pass the guard but Aurelius defending well.
Aurelius knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carriggian on the ground.

Carriggian is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Aurelius!
Aurelius wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Carriggian cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Carriggian cracks Aurelius with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Aurelius is rocked!
Carriggian controlling the pace for now.
Oh Aurelius is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Carriggian thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Aurelius seems to have got his legs back now.
Aurelius takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
You get the feeling that Aurelius really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Carriggian lands a couple of good shots and Aurelius has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Carriggian is cranking Aurelius's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Aurelius! He's tightened the choke and Aurelius is tapping out!
