PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Cracchiolo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrance Fuller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cracchiolo comes to the cage accompanied by Make them suffer- Cannibal Corpse. Fuller has chosen Long Haired Country Boy - Charlie Daniels Band as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Solomon Cracchiolo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terrance Fuller!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Fuller lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cracchiolo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cracchiolo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Fuller looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Cracchiolo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cracchiolo is controlling the pace.
Cracchiolo uses his free foot to push down on Fuller's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fuller.
Cracchiolo looking to control and managing it successfully.
Cracchiolo with shots to the head and body - Fuller looks very uncomfortable down there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cracchiolo looking to secure an arm triangle but Fuller defends it well.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cracchiolo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Cracchiolo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Cracchiolo looking to secure an arm triangle but Fuller defends it well.
Cracchiolo trying to control but Fuller is having none of it.

Cracchiolo has control of Fuller's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fuller regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fuller's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Cracchiolo lands a heavy elbow.
Cracchiolo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fuller is looking to escape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fuller tries to buck Cracchiolo off but he can't manage it.
Fuller wants to control but Cracchiolo is having none of it.
Fuller is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Cracchiolo controlling the pace for now.
Cracchiolo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Fuller hang on?
Cracchiolo trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Cracchiolo wants to control the pace but Fuller is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Solomon Cracchiolo just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Cracchiolo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cracchiolo wants to clinch.
Cracchiolo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fuller's waist but Fuller gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cracchiolo off to one side.
Cracchiolo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Cracchiolo clinches up against the cage.
Fuller wants to break free but Cracchiolo has control.

Cracchiolo breaks from the clinch.
A big right from Fuller misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Solomon Cracchiolo dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


The fight stays on the outside here - Fuller looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Fuller looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cracchiolo!
Cracchiolo tries to hold on but Fuller pushes him away.
Cracchiolo is working to get back to half guard.

Fuller tries to stand and escape but Cracchiolo is controlling the position.

Cracchiolo is controlling Fuller's posture.
Fuller postures up in Cracchiolo's guard and throws a big left but Cracchiolo blocks it.
Fuller would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Cracchiolo pushes Fuller off and gets back to his feet.
Cracchiolo shoots in but no luck this time.
Fuller waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Cracchiolo.
Fuller blocks a head kick by Cracchiolo.
Solomon Cracchiolo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cracchiolo shoots in for a takedown but Fuller shows good takedown defense.
Fuller tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cracchiolo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fuller wants to clinch.

Fuller takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Cracchiolo is looking to clinch.

Cracchiolo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fuller to the mat! Fuller manages to get full guard.
Cracchiolo passes Fuller's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Cracchiolo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fuller does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Fuller is trying to stand.
Fuller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cracchiolo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cracchiolo drops an elbow to the side of Fuller's head.
Cracchiolo is tying to control. Fuller wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Cracchiolo prevents Fuller from getting the reversal.
Fuller is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Cracchiolo avoids the attempt from Fuller to control.
Cracchiolo breaks from Fuller's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Cracchiolo is landing with some decent strikes but Fuller is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Solomon Cracchiolo dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Fuller is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Cracchiolo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cracchiolo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Fuller tries to keep at a distance but Cracchiolo has taken the fight into the clinch.

Cracchiolo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Cracchiolo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fuller gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fuller has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cracchiolo is proving hard to escape from.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cracchiolo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fuller!

Cracchiolo trying to control but Fuller is having none of it.
Cracchiolo lands with some strikes.
Cracchiolo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Fuller can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fuller tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Cracchiolo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Fuller manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cracchiolo wants to control but Fuller is keeping him busy.
Fuller can't do much from the bottom here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Cracchiolo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fuller.
Fuller wants to clinch but Cracchiolo slips to the side

and Cracchiolo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cracchiolo.

Cracchiolo stands up from Fuller's guard - Cracchiolo perhaps looking for a knockout.
Fuller throws a leg kick that is checked

and Cracchiolo counters by clinching up.
Fuller lands a hook to the side of the head.

Cracchiolo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cracchiolo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Cracchiolo trying to keep a closed guard but Fuller is proving a slippery customer.
Fuller wants to stand but Cracchiolo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Cracchiolo pulls Fuller in close to prevent any damage.

Fuller decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Fuller throws a series of punches but Cracchiolo avoids them all with ease.
Cracchiolo tries to close the distance and clinch but Fuller swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cracchiolo fakes the leg kick and cracks Fuller in the body.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cracchiolo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fuller is fending him off so far but Cracchiolo persists. Nope, Fuller circles away and we're back to standing.
Fuller falls off balance throwing a combination

and Cracchiolo moves into the clinch.

Come on Cracchiolo - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Fuller changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cracchiolo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cracchiolo is looking to clinch but Fuller is avoiding it.
Fuller scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Cracchiolo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fuller as he avoids it easily.
Terrance Fuller has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Solomon Cracchiolo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Solomon Cracchiolo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Fuller!

Solomon Cracchiolo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cracchiolo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
