Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Van Halen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aamakualenalena Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Halen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Here I Go Again. Robinson has chosen Open Air- Seven Nation Army as his entrance music. Aamakualenalena Robinson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Robinson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Van Halen wants to control the action here but instead Robinson manages to pass to full mount!

Robinson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Van Halen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Van Halen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Robinson is looking to control Van Halen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Robinson avoid being mounted?

Robinson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Van Halen pulls his head out easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Van Halen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Robinson tries to avoid it but Van Halen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Robinson to the ground. Robinson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Van Halen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Robinson sprawls well initially but Van Halen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Van Halen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Van Halen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Robinson keeps working.

Van Halen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Van Halen lands a nice short elbow.

Van Halen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Van Halen throws a series of punches but Robinson avoids them all with ease.
Van Halen throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Robinson on the side of the head.
Van Halen closes the distance and clinches up with Robinson, looking for a takedown. Van Halen pushes Robinson against the cage but Robinson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Van Halen scores with the left hand. Robinson knows he should have avoided that one.
Jon Van Halen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Robinson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Van Halen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Robinson's best efforts.

Robinson seems to be working for a kimura but Van Halen defends the submission attempt.

Van Halen thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Van Halen is looking to sinch up a triangle. Robinson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Van Halen's body to avoid the submission. Van Halen has instead reached around Robinson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Van Halen arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
