Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dom Malendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leif Gunnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Leif Gunnar was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Malendez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gunnar looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Malendez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Malendez is nestled in close to Gunnar, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Gunnar is defending against the submission attempts here by Malendez.
Malendez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Malendez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Gunnar is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Malendez has taken his back.

Malendez has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Gunnar! Can he survive? No! He's out! Malendez gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
