PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silverback Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiu Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is go coors!. Jitsu has chosen Nikkfurie- The a la Menthe as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Silverback Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jiu Jitsu!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jitsu takes one to the side of the head.
Jitsu lands a jab-cross combination.
Lesnar does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lesnar leaves Jitsu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jitsu moves out of range as Lesnar strikes.

Jitsu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lesnar wants to get back to his feet but Jitsu is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
My spies in Animal House inform me that Jitsu has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Jitsu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lesnar looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lesnar looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lesnar!

Jitsu sneaks back into half guard.

Lesnar looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Jitsu is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lesnar pulls his head out easily.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jitsu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lesnar with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Lesnar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lesnar looking to control but Jitsu is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lesnar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lesnar continues to stall.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jitsu tries to hold on but Lesnar pushes him away.

Lesnar throws a right and a left that both miss.

Jitsu shoots in looking for a takedown. Lesnar tries to sprawl out of it but Jitsu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lesnar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lesnar tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jitsu manages to circle out of the way.
Lesnar throws a lazy right hand but Jitsu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jitsu! But no joy.
Jitsu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lesnar works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jitsu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lesnar can pounce on him.
Jitsu darts in looking for a takedown but Lesnar gets double underhooks and turns Jitsu into the cage.
It looked like Lesnar wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Silverback Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jiu Jitsu.

Jiu Jitsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jitsu darts in looking for a takedown but Lesnar gets double underhooks and turns Jitsu into the cage.

Jitsu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lesnar throws a lazy right hand but Jitsu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jiu Jitsu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jitsu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lesnar sprawls well. Lesnar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jitsu gets slowly back to his feet.
A little feinted left hand from Lesnar on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Lesnar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Lesnar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lesnar throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Jitsu shoots for a takedown but Lesnar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lesnar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jitsu can do to turn this around?
