Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Nisk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ju Lua!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lua throws a low kick, looking for Nisk's leg but Nisk calmly moves out of range.
Lua looks to score with a jab to the body but Nisk is just out of range.
Nisk throws a right hand that Lua ducks under and follows up with a left that Lua also avoids with ease.
Lua misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Nisk decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lua's guard.
Nisk is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Nisk preventing the sweep.
Nisk drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lua dives on top into guard.
Nisk is looking for a triangle but Lua pushes his legs off easily.
Lua wants to pass the guard but Nisk is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lua is looking to stand up but Nisk won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nisk keeping moving, preventing Lua from controlling successfully.
Nisk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lua gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lua must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Nisk had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lua defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lua slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lua is sitting in close to Nisk's body. Nisk has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lua is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lua is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Nisk.
