Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Connor McGuinness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dr John Zoidberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuinness kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Foggy Dew / Hypnotize Remix . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Connor McGuinness!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dr John Zoidberg!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from McGuinness enables Zoidberg to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McGuinness manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

McGuinness isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Zoidberg stacks McGuinness on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Zoidberg!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zoidberg working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
McGuinness is looking for a sweep.
McGuinness takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Zoidberg connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused McGuinness some visible discomfort.
McGuinness tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zoidberg wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

McGuinness manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McGuinness trying to control from half guard but Zoidberg is working away.

McGuinness is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Zoidberg has managed to free his arm - good work.
McGuinness working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

McGuinness is looking to take a break and control but Zoidberg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zoidberg is trying to get back to full guard.
We've been hearing that McGuinness has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Zoidberg makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Zoidberg.
Zoidberg is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McGuinness trying to control but Zoidberg postures up.
Zoidberg seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McGuinness does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McGuinness is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Zoidberg jumps into side control!
McGuinness is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Zoidberg is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McGuinness has escaped the position, nice work there.
Zoidberg is looking to take a break and control but McGuinness is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Zoidberg advances to full mount.
The referee warns McGuinness that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
BOOM! Zoidberg connects with a massive shot to the dome!

McGuinness is rocked!
McGuinness tries to lock up and control but Zoidberg gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Oh McGuinness is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
McGuinness is trying desperately to improve position.
Zoidberg softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and McGuinness is out cold! Zoidberg jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dr John Zoidberg!
An out of breath Dr John Zoidberg thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
