Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander misses with a wild body shot.
Alexander fails with an attempt to clinch.
Arkin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Alexander defends it well.

Arkin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Alexander to the ground. Arkin is now in Alexander's guard.
Alexander is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Alexander wants to hit a switch here but Arkin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Alexander there!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Arkin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Alexander is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Alexander and Arkin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Arkin sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Alexander is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Alexander looking for a sweep but Arkin has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Alexander is wriggling around trying to escape.
Alexander is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Alexander squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Arkin thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Arkin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alexander is working hard here to advance position.
Arkin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Alexander tries to hold on but Arkin pushes him away.
Alexander is looking to improve his position but Arkin isn't that keen on the idea.

Arkin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

My spies in Cozad MMA Las Vegas inform me that Arkin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
