Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between K.J. Choi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddie Mercury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). J. Choi and Freddie Mercury. Mercury has chosen Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, K.J. Choi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freddie Mercury!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Mercury.

Choi has Mercury pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Choi pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mercury tumbling to the mat - Choi dives into Mercury's guard.
Choi content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Mercury is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mercury has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Choi is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Choi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mercury paws at him with a jab and circles away.

We've been hearing that Choi has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Mercury is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Choi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mercury gets to his feet - Choi follows without any prompting.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mercury creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
