Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wess West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Wess West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Castillo now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Castillo misses with a wild combination.
West fails with the takedown.

and Castillo counters by clinching up.
West is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Castillo misses with a punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
West wants to break the clinch but can't.

The fight stays on the outside here - Castillo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
West throws a head kick but Castillo moves out of range.

Castillo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by West.
Castillo wants to clinch up but West keeps it at a distance.
Castillo darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
West fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
West slips a jab and a cross from Castillo.
West closes the distance and clinches up with Castillo, looking for a takedown. West pushes Castillo against the cage but Castillo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wess West. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Castillo throws a hook but West avoids it easily.
West misses with a few strikes there.
West looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Castillo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
West throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Castillo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Castillo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
West uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Castillo.
Wess West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Castillo leaves West with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Castillo tries to bum rush West with a series of wild strikes but West uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Castillo wants to clinch.
Castillo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
West misses with a two punch combination.
West fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Castillo avoids it really well and circles away.

West darts in and clinches Castillo up against the cage.

West can't break the clinch.
Castillo tries to throw a body punch but West avoids it by throwing Castillo back against the cage.
West blocks an elbow strike.
West can't break the clinch.

West breaks from the clinch.
West scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Joe Castillo has been cut.
West throws a head kick that misses.
West misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
West tries to clinch but Castillo moves out of range.
West on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
West tries to close the distance and clinch but Castillo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
West tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Castillo throws a counter combo.
Castillo is looking to clinch but West is avoiding it.
Castillo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from West.
Castillo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. West manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Castillo dips to his left and cracks West with an uppercut!
Castillo throws a sloppy head kick and West moves out of range easily.
West seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
West closes the distance and clinches up with Castillo, looking for a takedown. West pushes Castillo against the cage but Castillo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
West throws a body shot but no joy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joe Castillo will probably get the nod.

That's time! West's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

West swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Castillo lands with a kick to the temple. West shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Castillo scores with a head kick. West tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

West is rocked!
BOOM! Castillo lands a beautiful left hook that drops West. West tries to recover but Castillo is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and West lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
