Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Modesto Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hy Per (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Modesto Price!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hy Per!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Per decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Per is looking for a kimura but Price is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Per to get the leverage.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Per in particular looking to stall.
Price is trying to stand up here but Per is controlling him well.

Price manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Per keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Per drags the fight down to the ground.
Per looking to hit a scissor sweep but Price is one step ahead there.
Per utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Per is pulling down on Price's head to control his posture.
Price really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Price postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Per trying to keep a closed guard but Price is proving a slippery customer.
Price will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Per is looking to stand back up but Price counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Per.

Per trying to control but Price postures up.
Per has a hand on Price's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Price takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Price get's back to his feet.

Per shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Price napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Price bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Per scores with a takedown into Price's guard.

Per stopping the sweep attempt from Price.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Price scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Per shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Price trying to hold on to Per's head to control him but Per postures up.
Per is taking a breather. Price says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Price wants to control but Per is keeping busy.

Per is looking for a kimura here.
Per is looking to take a break and control but Price is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Price throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Price is looking to control Per's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Price avoid being mounted?
Price blocking the ground and pound attempt from Per.
Per wants to pass to mount but Price is defending the position.
Price is trying to stand up here but Per is controlling him well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Per trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Price uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Per drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Price has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Per is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Price works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Price is standing up over Per. Per looks to escape but Price dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Per tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Price easily slips into full mount!
Per is desperately trying to improve his position but Price has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Modesto Price dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Per tries to clinch there but Price circles away.

Per closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Price to the mat! Price manages to get full guard.
Per trying to control but Price is working from the bottom.
Price controls Per momentarily but Per frees himself.
Per tries to free his leg and advance position but Price is retaining full guard.
Modesto Price overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Price is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Per is controlling him.
Per trying to stand up but can't free himself from Price's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Price has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Per has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

It looks like Per is going to stand back up.
Per is trying to control the action in half guard but Price is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Price has one foot on Per's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Per throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Price tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Per is in Price's guard.

Price pushes Per off and scrambles back to his feet.

Price manages to break the clinch.
Price closes this distance looking for a takedown but Per circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Per shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Price's guard.
Price tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Price is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Per is controlling him.
Price is trying to keep Per in close.
Per looking to pass the guard.
Price is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Per closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Price's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Price manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Per manages to pull guard.
Per is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Hy Per will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Per working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Price is on top in guard.

Hy Per seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Price tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Per paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Per throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Some wild striking there from Per.

Price doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Per takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Per feints and as Price raises his hands in defense, Per changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Price throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Per lands a couple of elbows.

Price has his feet on Per's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Price pushes Per off looking to stand but Per dives back in and keeps control.

Per's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Per must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Per wants to control from the top but Price keeps moving.
Per would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Price will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The fight stays on the outside here - Per looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Price changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Price drives through and clinches with Per against the cage.
Per works on Price's body with a couple of short punches.

Per successfully pulls guard.
Per is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Per seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

I would just about give that final round to Hy Per.
I think Per has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
